Privacy Policy
[Last Updated: 10-08-2026]
At Six Moving, we are committed to protecting your personal information. We collect it only to provide our services, meaning estimates, moves, storage, BoxShop orders, and PinkPacks rentals, and to process payments, communicate with you, and improve how we operate. We never sell your personal information.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
1.WHO WE ARE & WHO TO TALK TO
This website is operated by Six Moving, a Toronto moving, storage, and moving-supplies company.
- Website: https:www.sixmoving.ca
- Email: info@sixmoving.ca
- Phone: 647-973-3676

We have a designated Privacy Officer who is accountable for how Six Moving handles personal information. For any privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact info@thesixmoving.ca with “ATTENTION: PRIVACY OFFICER” in the subject line, or call us.
2.WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY
- Estimates, Bookings & Moves: Your name, email, phone number, the addresses involved in your move, dates, and details about your home and belongings. We use this to prepare your estimate, schedule and perform your move or storage service, and keep accurate service records.
- Payments & Invoicing: Billing details and payment card information (deposits are taken by credit card and kept securely on file, as described in our Terms & Conditions). We use this to take deposits and payments and to email your itemized invoices.
- Storage Records: The inventory and condition documentation we create for stored goods, and your billing details. We use this to care for your goods and run your monthly storage account.
- Website Forms & Chat: What you submit through our estimate and contact forms, your chat messages, and technical details such as IP address and browser type. We use this to respond to you and to keep the website secure.
- Calls, Texts & Voicemail: Records of your calls, text messages, and voicemails through our business phone system. We use this to follow up on your inquiry and keep track of what we agreed.
- BoxShop Orders: Your name, contact details, delivery address, order and payment details, and IP address. We use this to process and deliver your order and to prevent fraud.
- Cookies & Analytics: Cookies that keep your cart and session working, plus analytics and advertising tags (Google Analytics and the Meta pixel) that show us how visitors use the site. We use these to improve the site and measure our advertising. See Section 5 for your choices.
3.WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
We share personal information only with the service providers who help us operate, and only what each one needs to do its job for us:
- Payment Processing: Moneris (card payments)
- Invoicing & Accounting: FreshBooks and our external accountant
- Phone & Messaging: RingCentral (our business phone system)
- Website Chat: Tidio
- Analytics & Advertising: Google and Meta
- Website Hosting, Security & Delivery: SiteGround and Cloudflare
- Email & Business Tools: Google Workspace

We never sell your personal information. Our providers are required, through contracts and their service commitments, to protect the personal information they process for us. Providers can change as our tools change; ask our Privacy Officer for the current list at any time.
4.HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
- Order, Invoice & Payment Records: 7 years (tax and accounting rules)
- Estimate Requests, Correspondence & Chat Transcripts: As long as needed to help you, then as part of your customer record if you book with us
- Storage Inventories: For the life of your storage account, then with your customer record
- Analytics Data: Up to 26 months
- BoxShop Account: Until you ask us to close it
5.YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES
You may:
- Ask What We Have: Request access to the personal information we hold about you and how we’ve used it
- Correct It: Ask us to fix anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Withdraw Consent: Subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice; we’ll explain what withdrawing means for the services we can still provide
- Opt Out of Analytics & Advertising Cookies: Through your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out, and Meta’s ad preferences
- Unsubscribe from Marketing: Any time, per Section 6
Email info@thesixmoving.ca with “ATTENTION: PRIVACY OFFICER” in the subject line to make a request. We respond promptly, and we may need to verify your identity first. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
6.MARKETING EMAILS AND TEXTS
We follow Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL):
- We send marketing messages only with your consent, whether express or implied under CASL (for example, because you asked us for an estimate or are an existing customer).
- Every marketing message identifies Six Moving, gives you our contact information, and includes a working unsubscribe.
- Unsubscribe requests are honoured without delay, at the latest within 10 business days and usually much faster.
- Service messages (estimates you requested, booking confirmations, invoices, claim updates) are not marketing and continue as part of your service.
- We do not buy contact lists.
7.WHERE YOUR DATA IS PROCESSED
We are a Canadian business, and most of your information is handled in Canada. Some of our providers, including our hosting, analytics, and advertising providers, store or process data in the United States or other countries. While your information is outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of those countries, including lawful access by authorities there. We use contractual and other safeguards with our providers wherever your data is processed.
8.HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA
- SSL encryption on the website
- Two-factor authentication for administrative access
- Firewalls and malware scanning
- Staff privacy training, with access limited to the people who need it to serve you
9.IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG (DATA BREACHES)
If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and report to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as soon as feasible. In every case, we act immediately to contain and secure the affected systems, and we keep a record of every breach, as Canadian privacy law requires.
10.AUTOMATED PROFILING
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you. A human being reviews your estimate, your booking, and any claim.
11.THE LAWS WE FOLLOW, AND CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL). When we change this policy, we post the new version here and update the date at the top. Questions? info@thesixmoving.ca with “ATTENTION: PRIVACY OFFICER” in the subject line or call us at 647-973-3676.
